Biography

Born in Kobe, Japan 1949

During his attempt with paintings and lithographs as a student he encountered and fell in love with clay as a working material. He liked the visual and sensorial appreciation that clay has.  He began testing out various types of clay by making reliefs. This was the beginning of his career as a ceramic artist. He moved to Shiga region, famous for Shigaraki-ware, and continued to create his own works while working at a pottery factory. He is a well-known and established Contemporary Japanese ceramic artist and has shown his works internationally.
