The Horiuchis were one of the supporters for Arena di Verona’s Video Production of Zeffereri’s new stage production of Aida in 2002.
Zeffirelli said in his ‘Note for a new reading of Aida’:
“In Aida, Verdi achieved one of the most extraordinary creations in the whole universe of the theatre. He makes us re-experience passions, feelings, weaknesses, historical tableaux and fantastic visions. He also succeeded in stimulating our imaginations, so that every time we come back to this opera we discover emotions, meanings and values that are always new. Ever since I was a boy, when I saw the opera for the first time, Aida has simulated my imagination in ever new and different ways. My relationship with the opera has never been interrupted, but now it arrives at its most complete and spectacular destination: the Arena di Verona.”
